The Volkswagen Beetle has been sold in the U.S. for nearly seven decades, but production will end in 2019.

  6. If they'd made it like the original, rear engine and rear-wheel-drive, and updated the looks somewhat, they could have had an exciting "poor man's Porsche" kind of car. Instead they went bland and cute, and built something for 40 year old female librarians to buy cat food with.

  7. I don't know if I should mourn the cease of production of an objectively worse Volkswagen Golf that it's main positive attribute was looking like a car that was phased out in 1978
    We have lost many good cars in the last 10-20 years and the VW new Bettle wasn't one of them.
